-------------------------- begin press release --------------------------

PAPA 3: THE BIG TIME!

WHEN IT IS

Friday, February 12th, 1993 to Sunday, February 14, 1993.

WHERE IT IS

New York City, the Park Central Hotel, 7th Avenue between 55th and
56th Streets. The hotel is offering participating players and their
families special discounted rates during the tournament. For
information and reservations, call 1-800-843-6664. You must mention
the code name "PAPA" when making reservations to receive special
rates.

DIVISIONS

There are three singles divisions (A, B, and C) based upon your own
evaluation of your skill level, with commensurate prize monies. There
is one doubles division and one youth division (under 16). Players
may enter only one singles division. For example, if you enter the A
division, you may not reenter in the B or C division.

QUALIFYING ROUNDS AND ENTRY FEES

Qualifying rounds will begin on Friday, February 12th at 10 AM and run
until 5 PM. They will begin again on Saturday, February 13th at 9 AM
and run until 1 AM. No entries or re-entries will be admitted after
12:30 AM on Saturday.

All machines will be set for free play. Entry fees for singles
divisions are $15.00 for each entry. Entry fees for doubles are
$20.00 per team for each entry; for the youth division, entry fees are
$10.00 per entry. Players may re-enter as many times as they like, in
order to improve their positions. Each re-entry costs the same as the
original entry fee: $15.00 for singles; $20.00 for doubles; $10.00 for
youth. Re-entry does not invalidate previous scores. The 16 highest
scores, as of 6 PM on Saturday, will advance to the final rounds.

[ Note: I think one or more of the ending times on Saturday are wrong;
I'll double-check and post a correction as we get closer to the
contest weekend. ]

FINAL ROUNDS

On Sunday, February 14th, the quarter-final, semifinal, and final
rounds for all divisions will begin at 9 AM, and continue until
completion. No additional entry fees will be required for final round
players.

SPECIAL EVENTS

On all three days, special mini-events will be occurring, including
one-ball tourneys, scotch doubles, Zen pinball, parent-child and
two-minute contests. Each of these events will require an entry fee,
and will offer significant purses, plus additional prizes. A full
schedule will be available in January.

MACHINES

Final machine selection is unavailable at this time. However, the
tournament will be conducted on three banks of 8-10 machines of
1992-1993 vintage. The final rounds will be played on the newest
machines, with the possibility of one or more games making their world
premiere at PAPA 3. There will be information sheets available for
all games, instructing players about game features and scoring.
