It's January 11 and you know what that means: 23 days until PAPA 5: Judgement day. Now Here's a PAPA 5 update. PAPA 5 will begin on Friday February 3 at 11 AM, and run till Sunday February 5th. That's at Park Central Hotel, 55th Street and 7th Avenue New York City. Exceptional hotel rates are still available. Parking will be at the Edison Brothers lot at 49th St. and 7th Avenue. It's $10 a day with 24 hour access. At PAPA 5 there will be competition in 9 divisions: Singles A, B and C, Doubles A and B, Womens, Juniors (under 16), and the PAPA chanpions divisions A and B open only to previous winners of a PAPA sanctioned tournament. No preregistration is required. The total purse will be an amazing $30,000 including cash and prizes. As usual throughout the weekend there will winner-take-all special shootouts. In addition to the greatest pinball action on the newest and best games, PAPA 5 will feature champions from Europe, Scandinavia, and Asia meeting for the first time. There is only one way to describe PAPA 5: Judgement Day. There will also be a vintage bank of competitive games from the 50s and 60s. And for the first time, PAPA will present a special division for Amtex software computer pinball on the newest Amtex games, with a purse of over $5,000. Entry fees are the same as last year, only $15 for singles divisions, $10 per player for the doubles, and $10 for juniors. You can enter as often as wou wish. Qualifying begins on Friday February 3 at 11 AM and extends through Saturday night to 1 AM in most divisions. Some divisions will have final rounds on Saturday night. There's not much time left.
